Shadow Relations explores the delicate and often invisible connections between sound, light, and the human body. The work unfolds as a multisensory performance in which live sound, moving shadows, and projected light merge into a fluid choreography of perception. Rooted in my body-art approach OscillART, the piece transforms inner emotional states into movement, letting sound impulses flow through the body and materialize as dynamic shadow formations.

At the core of Shadow Relations is my interest in how the body, in dialogue with sound and shadow, becomes a nonverbal narrative medium—telling stories through rhythm, resonance, and reflection. The performance space shifts into a living canvas where visibility and absence, sound and movement continually intertwine. By translating sound into the visual language of shadow, I expand auditory experience into spatial and emotional dimensions. Shadows respond to each sonic impulse, oscillating between fragility and intensity.

Through experimentation with spatial sound, lighting, and video, I explore how these elements shape perception and emotional depth. In the video version of Shadow Relations, this approach weaves together performance and video art, enriched by additional visual layers. Here, shadows are not merely visual traces but active components that, in interaction with sound, generate new atmospheric and emotional densities within the space.

The result is a sensory landscape in which sound becomes visible and shadow becomes almost audible—a meditation on the fluid boundaries of perception.

Shadow Relations erforscht die feinen und oft unsichtbaren Verbindungen zwischen Klang, Licht und dem menschlichen Körper. Die Arbeit entfaltet sich als multisensorische Performance, in der Live-Sound, bewegte Schatten und projiziertes Licht zu einer fließenden Choreografie der Wahrnehmung verschmelzen. Verwurzelt in meinem körperkünstlerischen Ansatz OscillART verwandelt das Stück innere emotionale Zustände in Bewegung, lässt Klangimpulse durch den Körper fließen und sich als dynamische Schattenformationen sichtbar machen.

Im Zentrum von Shadow Relations steht meine Frage, wie der Körper im Dialog mit Klang und Schatten zu einem nonverbalen erzählerischen Medium wird – Geschichten erzählend durch Rhythmus, Resonanz und Reflexion. Der Aufführungsraum verwandelt sich in eine lebendige Leinwand, auf der Sichtbarkeit und Abwesenheit, Klang und Bewegung fortwährend ineinander übergehen. Indem ich Klang in die visuelle Sprache des Schattens übersetze, erweitere ich das auditive Erleben um räumliche und emotionale Dimensionen. Schatten reagieren auf jeden Klangimpuls und bewegen sich zwischen Fragilität und Intensität.

Durch das Experimentieren mit Raumklang, Licht und Video erforsche ich, wie diese Elemente Wahrnehmung und emotionale Tiefe formen. In der Videoarbeit Shadow Relations verbindet sich dieser Ansatz mit Elementen der Videokunst und wird durch weitere visuelle Ebenen verdichtet. Hier sind Schatten nicht bloß visuelle Erscheinungen, sondern aktive Bestandteile, die in ihrer Wechselwirkung mit Klang neue atmosphärische und emotionale Dichten im Raum erzeugen.

Das Ergebnis ist eine sinnliche Landschaft, in der Klang sichtbar wird und Schatten beinahe hörbar – eine Meditation über die fließenden Grenzen der Wahrnehmung.
