“I Can’t Breathe” is a new live performance that explores the phenomenon of sensory exclusion — the ways in which scent, sound, and light can overwhelm the senses and create barriers to participation and belonging.
Through sound, body and voice the work constructs an immersive sonic environment that transforms sensory sensitivity into a tangible experience. The audience is drawn directly into the intensity of overstimulation, invited to feel what it means to be engulfed, disconnected, or excluded by sensory input.
While inspired in part by personal experiences, the performance shifts the focus outward — toward a shared reflection on sensory diversity and the urgent need for empathy, accessibility, and awareness in our everyday environments.
