For me, the modular system is improvisation in its purest form. As a fleeting instrument, it can never be fully reproduced or stored and recalled like other electronic media. Sound only exists in the specific moment itself \u2014 through the exact configuration, the connections between modules, and the fine-tuned interaction of countless parameters. That uniqueness is exactly what fascinates me so much about modular systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For me, modular and improvisation are inseparably connected. The real question is less whether<\/em> improvisation happens, but rather what kind of aesthetic relationship you have to sound, structure, and composition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In my work, the modular system allows me to break away from fixed musical structures while at the same time confronting my own inner desire for order and form. Especially in combination with sensors and embodied interaction, an exciting tension emerges for me: the unpredictability of the modular system meets bodily control and intuitive movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
